A giltwood George III fauteuil armchair in the French manner. John Linnell supplied similar Adam period pieces of furniture to Osterly Park in England. The use of honeysuckle/anthemia across the front rail, the imbricated oval back and acanthus arm-to-back pinctures are all elements used during this period by John Linell. The gross/petite pointe needlework cover is of the period and may be associated. English, circa 1770-80.
