Title: | A Rare Queen Anne Silver Gilt Stool |
Inv.#: | SE000866 |
Size: | H 18in x W 23in x D 17in |
Price: | Price On Request |
A rare carved and silver gilt William and Mary/Queen Anne period scrolled foot "Square Stool" in the manner of Richard Roberts. A nearly identical wing chair with very closely related design is featured in "Hotspur, Eighty Years of Antiques Dealing" compiled by Goodison & Kern, pg 124-126. This stool is most certainly intended for a royal commission. The tent stitched seat cover is of the period, but may be associated. Circa 1690.
